Editorial Projects

As an editorial intern at the iconic Interview Magazine, I learned about all the parts of digital and print editorial. Some of my tasks include transcribing and editing a conversation between Joyce Carol Oates and Margaret Atwood (and many others), teaching the Interview team how to use TikTok, and conducting research/creating talent lists for brand partnerships in the magazine.

My role also included analyzing website data, archival research, talent relations and more. I am credited in the masthead of the September 2022 issue—which features Kim Kardashian on the cover (see below).

As If magazine is an independent magazine that focuses on the art of collaboration and explores the minds and creative processes of the world’s most notable creative personalities. As If has a smaller team, so as an intern I was very involved with all aspects of production. I worked closely with the stylists for each shoot, handling all sample trafficking and even assisting on set.

The role also included plenty of research about the talent and working with them on set. I worked with muscians Aly and Aj, Jordan Roth and many other notable creatives during my time here. I also developed the magazine’s social media presence through posting content regularly and amassing a larger following.

ECHO MAGAZINE

Echo is a magazine that was a collaborative effort between myself and other classmates during my time at NYU. Here you are able to see my skills in design, writing, editing, and photography.

The concept for this magazine was focused on the evolution of society and culture - how history repeats itself. We explored trends in fashion, art, music and sports and more.

Tanner Adell

Freelance PR work

In exploring career opportunities post-graduation, I have been able to do freelance work in public relations. This primarily has been working with singer Ava Maybee. Ava is a talented singer and songwriter who was featured on season 20 of American Idol. I have developed social media content, worked with her at shows, and more. Working with up-and-coming artists is so exciting; I love working to craft their image. One day, she will be a household name.

During this freelance time I have also worked high-profile events, managing the door, list making and more.

Luke Hemmings - Muscian

Wackermann + Partners

I had the opportunity to work for/with Bill Wackermann of Wackermann & Partners to learn the ins and outs of public relations. Bill has been a facet of the entertainment industry for decades, having served as the CEO of Wilhelmina Models and founding their celebrity division.

Under Bill’s mentorship, I worked directly with top industry clients like Luke Hemmings, Tanner Adell, Paul Jason Klein, and others. I helped get them on magazine covers, attend top fashion shows like Dolce & Gabbana in Milan, and managed press at sold-out shows.

Bill also represents fashion clients, and during my time working with him, we worked on launching PAKA’s- a sustainable fashion brand that uses alpaca wool— new underwear line. This deeply aligned with my goals to use PR to promote brands and artists who make positive change in the world.

This role solidified my desire to dive deep into the public relations world, and I am grateful to Bill for his wisdom and guidance.
